Mrs. Bharati Ponnappa, Academic Head: Pre Primary Department
A seasoned educator with over 46 years of experience in early childhood education, Mrs. Bharati Ponnappa has been a guiding force in Bethany’s Pre Primary department. Armed with a BSc and B.Ed., she has played a key role in shaping the foundational years of countless young learners.
As Academic Head, she continues to lead with warmth and vision, supporting children through their first school experiences with care and creativity. Her belief that “a happy child is the best learner” drives her approach, helping each child grow with confidence and joy.
The return of many former students as parents stands as a testament to her enduring impact on the Bethany community.


Mrs. Mona Ryall, Academic Head: Primary Department
Mrs. Mona Ryall is a calm, compassionate, and passionate educator who has over 30 years of teaching experience, including 25 at Bethany High. As Head of the primary department for 13 years, she leads with clarity and confidence, inspiring her team and students alike.
A Science graduate with a B.Ed., she currently teaches General Knowledge and Value Education to Std. 2–4. Under her leadership, the department nurtures confident, independent learners through engaging activities, daily study habits, and holistic development. Her dedication and vision continue to shape young minds with warmth and excellence.
Mrs. Sri Sowmya Kasturi, Academic Head: Middle School Department
Mrs. Sri Sowmya Kasturi is the Head of the Middle School Department, who is passionate about teaching the subjects of Math and Physics. She has been with Bethany Institutions for over a decade.
She’s a Mechanical Engineer with specialisation in Industrial & Production from KLU, formerly Koneru Lakshmaih College of Engineering and also has a bachelor’s degree in Education from Christ University. She has donned multiple hats like, being a quality control manager and a Senior Software Engineer till she found her true calling of becoming a teacher which was her childhood passion.
What keeps her going? – Her thirst for learning something new every day is quenched in this institution; through her colleagues and students.


Mr. Chris Sanandam, Academic Head: High School Department
Mr. Chris Sanandam holds a B.Sc. in Physics and an MCA and B.ed. He joined the Bethany family in 2009, choosing education over a career in software to pursue the more meaningful goal of shaping young lives. With over two decades of experience, including time as a residential dorm parent, he understands the importance of supporting students beyond just academics.
Teaching Mathematics and Physics, he prioritizes strong fundamentals and student integrity over marks. By maintaining an approachable, low-anxiety classroom, he helps students overcome their fears and develop the confidence to master complex subjects.
Mrs. Fincy Robert, Academic Head: Junior College
Mrs. Fincy Robert serves as the Academic Head of the Junior College, bringing over 12 years of experience in ISC Biology education and board evaluation. She holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.). She believes that true education extends beyond the classroom walls. Her approach focuses on identifying the unique potential of every student through steady guidance and student-first teaching methodologies. By fostering a collaborative environment, she aims to help young learners build essential critical thinking skills and confidence. She supports the faculty team to maintain a positive and encouraging academic culture within the Junior College.


Mrs. Sara Tony, Academic Head: NIOS
A champion for the underdog, I believe a student’s intelligence and learning capabilities lie beyond academic achievements. Providing alternate teaching and learning methods that enhances a child’s inherent curiosity leading to experiential learning is what will make them lifelong learners. NIOS thus becomes the perfect vehicle to bridge this knowledge gap. With a Masters in Business administration from Symbiosis, Pune and over 15 years of formal and informal teaching experience I am committed to helping the students find their path and providing the necessary tools to help them excel.
Mrs. Anitha Menon, Academic Head: Bethany Professional Childcare
Mrs. Anitha Rajesh Menon has enjoyed being schooled all over India due to her army background. She completed her Degree and Masters and then pursued her B.Ed from Bangalore. She has been a passionate teacher for over 2 decades. Her experience ranges from teaching in an O level school for some years followed by a 12-year stint at DPS. She has come to love and admire the all-encompassing education that Bethany provides which is such a rarity in today’s times. Mrs. Menon, like her mother, loves teaching and looks forward to each day with enthusiasm and excitement.

Mr. Saroop Oommen: Coordinator – Music & Drama Department
Mr. Saroop Oommen brings over 25 years of experience in music education, live performance, and artist development. A founding member of the Unwind Center, he has worked with international artists, produced original music projects, and represented India on global platforms.
At Bethany, he has directed acclaimed musical productions such as In the Heights, School of Rock, and Big Fish, and led the Senior Choir to perform at prestigious festivals in Mumbai, Singapore, and Bangalore. He believes in nurturing every student’s creative voice in an inclusive and inspiring environment where music and theatre thrive.


Mrs. Smitha Oommen, Asst. Academic Head: Pre Primary Department
Mrs Smitha Oommen firmly believes, “What all children need is a little help, a little hope and somebody who believes in them,” a philosophy that guides her work with young learners. Since joining Bethany Institutions in 2014, she has dedicated herself to providing a nurturing and supportive environment for children as they begin their formal education. Her primary objective is to create a safe space for students transitioning from early childhood into the higher primary classes.
Her academic background is extensive and well-rounded. Mrs Smitha holds a degree in Psychology from Women’s Christian College in Chennai. She furthered her expertise with a diploma in Montessori training from the Indian Montessori Association, also in Chennai. Additionally, she completed a Certificate Course in Counselling from Montfort College in Bangalore.
With over 20 years of teaching experience in prestigious schools across Chennai and Bangalore, Mrs Smitha brings a wealth of knowledge and practical skills to her role. Her passion lies in recognising and fostering the unique potential within each child. She aims to create positive and lasting impressions, depositing warmth, love, and affirmation into their early school experiences.
Mrs. Savitha Raja, Coordinator and Special Educator (LEAP)
Mrs. Savitha Raja comes with 17 years of teaching experience and is passionate in instilling confidence in children with specific learning difficulty and to brave the society to lead an inclusive life. It is humbling to have moved from being an English Lecturer, HOD, Asst. Professor to the world of Special Education. It has been a short journey of 11 years as a special educator with long lasting experiences and a great sense of achievement. The school has taken greater responsibility in providing support services and a well structured learning environment in order to provide equal opportunities for all children.


Mr. D Peter Soundrarajan, Coordinator: PE Department
With 40 years in Physical Education, including 36 at Bethany Institutions, Mr. Peter Soundra Rajan leads the department with extensive experience and qualifications. His education includes B.PEd and M.PEd from Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith University, CPEd from YMCA College of Physical Education, and pre-commissioned NCC training from the Officers Training Academy, Kamptee. A certified referee (AAAF, ATFI) and coach (AIFF, NBA), he has coordinated sports meets for Greenwood Prep and EagleRidge Prep. Mr. Soundra Rajan fosters sportsmanship and skill development in Bethany High students, believing in the holistic development of individuals through physical activity.
He believes that the ultimate goal of teaching Physical Education is to help the students to develop physically, mentally, and socially, while also enjoying physical activity and creating healthy individuals.
Mr. Pankaj Kumar Choudhary, Coordinator: Computer Department
Computer Dept. is committed to empowering the students of today to create the world of tomorrow. The main aim of Computer Dept. is to equip our young generation to succeed in this digital world of Robotics, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. Skills like Coding will play a strong role in preparing India’s future for the new world of work. The coding curriculum are focused on building critical thinking, computational skills, problem-solving skills, creativity and hands-on exposure to new technologies. It will equip our students with future ready learning skills.


Mrs. Sreeparna Basu, Coordinator: Art Department
Mrs Sreeparna, the Coordinator of the Bethany Art Department is a dedicated & passionate art teacher with more than a decade of experience. She holds a Master’s degree in Fine arts, Master’s degree in Education and has completed various courses on Visual painting and Applied art. She is committed to providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters creativity & critical thinking.
Ms. Sreeparna believes that Art education should be a positive and enjoyable experience for all students. Her goal is to inspire and nurture the creative potential in each student while providing them with the skills & knowledge necessary to succeed in the Arts
Mrs. S. Gayathri, In-charge: Admin Department
With 29 years of experience in the education sector, S. Gayathri brings a wealth of knowledge and professionalism to her role at Bethany High. A graduate with a strong background in administration, she has been with the institution for the past 8 years, contributing significantly to its smooth and efficient functioning.
Currently handling admissions and administrative work, Ms. Gayathri plays a vital role in ensuring that every process is streamlined and every parent and student receives the guidance they need. Her organised approach, attention to detail, and warm communication style make her a trusted point of contact for many families joining the Bethany community.


Mr. Eswarappa D G , General Manager: Finance & Liaison
Mr. Eswarappa D G has been an integral part of Bethany since 2004, bringing over 35 years of expertise in Accounts and Financial Management. With prior experience at MAA Bozeel, he plays a crucial role as General Manager – Finance & Liaison, ensuring seamless financial operations, regulatory compliance, and strategic financial planning. His vast experience and structured approach have been instrumental in maintaining the institution’s financial stability and supporting its long-term growth. Known for his dedication, integrity, and meticulous attention to detail, he is deeply committed to upholding the highest standards of financial management, fostering transparency, and driving operational excellence within the organization.
Mr. Nigel Brett, Head: Public Relations
Since 2010, Mr. Nigel Brett has been the driving force behind Bethany’s Public Relations. With over 15 years of dedicated service, he is known for his disciplined yet compassionate approach, upholding the school’s values in every interaction.
From planning the school calendar to managing uniforms, books, and events, Nigel’s attention to detail and unwavering commitment stand out. Always ready to help, he balances firmness with warmth, earning the respect and affection of the entire Bethany community.

Mr. Ravi Dass, Manager: Transport & Housekeeping
With a BA degree and an impressive 34 years of experience in the field, A. Ravi Dass has been an integral part of Bethany High since the very beginning of his career. Over the years, he has played a key role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the school’s operations. Currently in charge of logistics and maintenance, his dedication and commitment continue to support the day-to-day excellence that Bethany High is known for.
Known for his hands-on approach and problem-solving skills, Mr. Dass is often the go-to person for any operational needs on campus. His deep understanding of the school’s infrastructure and his ability to manage resources efficiently have made him an invaluable member of the Bethany family. His long-standing service is a testament to his loyalty, hard work, and passion for the institution.


Mr. Kumar, Manager: Cafeteria
Mr. Kumar has been overseeing the Bethany canteen for several years with dedication and precision. He ensures that all food and beverage operations run smoothly, maintaining strict hygiene and safety standards. From daily meal planning to coordinating catering for school events, he leads a well-trained team that serves nutritious, student-friendly meals. Under his guidance, the canteen is not just a place for food but a hub of community, companionship, and healthy habits. His disciplined approach and warm presence make him an indispensable part of campus life.
Mr Naresh Solomon, Coordinator – Dance Department
Naresh Solomon has been in the dance field for 21 years and trained in various styles such as
Hip hop, Contemporary , Salsa , Jazz , Flamenco & Folk.
Mr.Solomon trained a team of students for the Dance World Cup in 2024 and they placed 1st among 22 countries. This was followed by an Asian championship where they participated and bagged the First place in all the 3 categories.
Mr.Naresh Solomon has created the Bethany High Dance Department as an innovative space, where students explore their dancing styles.
The Dance Department is instrumental in conceptualising dances for the Sports Day, Prize Day, Founder’s Day, Carnivals and Musicals.
Under the able guidance of Mr.Solomon, the Dance Department also tutors the students who participate in competitions, in and around Bengaluru as well as performances on international stages .
