As is the tradition, the Kannada Rajyotsava programme was celebrated by the High School department of Bethany High on 6th November, 2024 with a lot of fervour. Through this programme, the students showcased respect for our country and the Kannada language in particular.
The programme started with a prayer. They showed the efforts of Aluru Venkatarayar in the unification of Karnataka .
The students spoke about how the ‘Mysore State’ came into being with the contribution of gentlemen like Deshpande, Rodda Srinivasa Rao, Chenna Basappa. Later, during the rule of Devaraja Arasu, as per the wishes of the people, ‘Mysore State’ was renamed as ‘Karnataka State’.
Through the skit, the story of ‘Onake Obavva’, who was the wife of the court guard of Madakari Nayak of Chitradurga Sansadhana and her brave act of facing HyderAli’s army, was enacted. It illustrated her self-confidence, courage, bravery and devotion to the king. Though she was an ordinary housewife, she sacrificed her life safeguarding the state from the intruders.
The Kannada Rajyotsava programme was well appreciated and enkindled pride and honour among the students and staff for our state, “Karnataka” helping them to understand the rich history and culture in which we live in.
ಪ್ರತಿ ವರ್ಷದಂತೆ ಈ ವರ್ಷವು ಸಹ ನಮ್ಮ ಬೆಥನಿ ಪ್ರೌಢ ಶಾಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ೬-೧೧-೨೦೨೪ ರಂದು ಕನ್ನಡ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಮೂಲಕ ಮಕ್ಕಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮ ನಾಡು, ನುಡಿಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಗೌರವಾಭಿಮಾನವನ್ನು ಮೂಡಿಸಿದೆವು.
ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ಆರಂಭಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ನಂತರ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಏಕೀಕರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋರಾಡಿದ. ಆಲೂರು ವೆಂಕಟರಾಯರು, ರಾ.ಹ. ದೇಶಪಾಂಡೆ, ರೊದ್ದ ಶ್ರೀನಿವಾಸ ರಾವ್, ಚೆನ್ನ ಬಸಪ್ಪ ರಂತಹ ಮಹನೀಯರ ಕೊಡುಗೆಯಿಂದ ‘ಮೈಸೂರು ರಾಜ್ಯವು’ ಉದಯವಾಯಿತು. ನಂತರ ದೇವರಾಜ ಅರಸು ಅವರ ಆಡಳಿತದ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಜನರ ಆಶಯದಂತೆ ’ಮೈಸೂರು ರಾಜ್ಯ’ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಬದಲಾಯಿಸಿ ’ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯ’ ಎಂದು ಪುನರ್ ನಾಮಕರಣವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಲಾದ ವಿಷಯದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿ ಕೊಡಲಾಯಿತು.
ಚಿತ್ರದುರ್ಗ ಸಂಸ್ಧಾನದ ಮದಕರಿ ನಾಯಕನ ಆಸ್ಥಾನದ ಕಾವಲುಗಾರನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದ ’ಒನಕೆ ಓಬವ್ವಳು’ ಹೈದರಾಲಿಯ ಸೈನ್ಯವನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸಿದ ಕಥೆಯನ್ನು ನಾಟಕದ ಮೂಲಕ ಪರಿಚಯಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಗೃಹಿಣಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದ ‘ ಓಬವ್ವಳ ‘ ಧೈರ್ಯ , ಸಾಹಸ, ರಾಜಭಕ್ತಿ, ರಾಜ್ಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ತನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನೇ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದ ಸಂಘತಿಯನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸುವ ಮೂಲಕ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಆತ್ಮ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸವನ್ನು ಮೂಡಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
The Bethany High Sarjapur campus also marked Kannada Rajyotsava with great enthusiasm. The school came together to hoist the Kannada flag, celebrating the rich culture and heritage of Karnataka. The occasion reflected the spirit of unity and pride among all the students and staff members.
