On January 25th, 2025, the Bethany Sarjapur Campus hosted a memorable Valedictory Ceremony with the theme- “Bespoke” for the graduating class of 2024-2025. A total of 287 students from Grades 10 and 12 bid farewell to their school with a poignant evening filled with music, speeches, and blessings.
The ceremony commenced with a captivating processional, the graduating students walking to the stage as the band played “Gonna Be Okay” by Brent Morgan. The air was filled with a sense of anticipation and excitement.
Following a stirring worship and prayer led by the Music and Theatre Department, Mr. Robert Khin, Principal of Bethany High, welcomed the gathering. He encouraged the graduating students to embrace their unique journeys, emphasizing the importance of character development as they venture beyond the familiar confines of their school.
The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the address by Mr. Rajiv Chelladurai, a renowned Leadership Facilitator and Executive Coach. He introduced the concept of “Bespoke,” urging the students to view their lives as unique and tailor-made for greatness. Mr. Chelladurai emphasized the importance of self-reflection, encouraging them to ponder four crucial questions: “What is my Why? What do I stand for? What do I have to offer? What am I willing to give up?” He cautioned against the “Epidemic of Comparison,” inspiring the students to define success on their own terms and celebrate their individuality.
Bethany has always taken pride in shaping young minds who go on to pursue diverse and remarkable careers, both in India and abroad. The foundation for these achievements is firmly established during Grades 10 and 12, as students are guided to explore their potential and prepare for the world beyond school.
For those transitioning from Class 10, the decision between continuing with the ISC curriculum or pursuing a pre-university course (PUC) marks a pivotal moment. Bethany’s ISC programme stands out for its comprehensive approach to learning, not only promoting academic excellence but also critical thinking and holistic development. The school provides dedicated support for students, whether they aim to secure admission to international universities or prepare for competitive exams in India, ensuring their future plans are met with clarity and direction.
The ceremony also featured several touching moments:
- Recognition of Excellence: Outstanding students were recognized by their teachers, with special awards presented to deserving individuals.
- Student Tribute: Samuel Ethan Pinto, President of the Bethany Student Organisation, delivered a heartfelt tribute, expressing his gratitude for the school’s unwavering support and the values instilled within him.
- Parental Appreciation: Mrs. Sharoon Sunny, parent of the Head Boy, Sarjapur, eloquently expressed her appreciation for the dedicated faculty and staff who played a significant role in her son’s journey.
- A Touch of Magic: The Bethany Dance Crew mesmerized the audience with a captivating performance titled “Iconic – Tailored to Perfection,” while the Valedictorians delivered a soul-stirring rendition of “When You Believe” by Stephen Schwartz.
The ceremony culminated with a poignant candle-lighting ceremony, where the students were encouraged to be beacons of light in the world. As the graduates walked out with the uplifting tune of “Roar” by Katy Perry ringing in their ears, they were ready to embrace the future with confidence and individuality.
The valedictory ceremony was a heartfelt farewell and a celebration of the individuality that Bethany nurtures in every student. With the lessons learned and values instilled here, they step into the world as bespoke individuals, ready to make their mark and shape a future of endless possibilities.
