Parent Orientation of Bethany 2021

Parent Orientation of Bethany 2021

Dear Parents
Greetings from Bethany. We were hopeful of having our students back in school physically in June to begin the new academic 2021, but due to the unprecedented predicament that we’re faced with, e-learning will have to continue for a prolonged period of time.
Be assured that we will do all it takes to see that our children do not miss out on their schooling even with this virtual model of teaching and learning.
We are happy to bring to you the orientation videos giving you some inputs and guidelines to start the new academic year.
With our best wishes
Bethany Management

#4. BETHANY PRE-PRIMARY DEPARTMENT

The Annual Parent Orientation has the unique distinction of laying the foundation of a lasting and constructive relationship between teachers, parents and the management which results in imminent achievements of our children. It is so unfortunate that the circumstances do not permit us to meet in person. But I assume that through this video, you will have a better understanding of our department and its working modality. We will try to give our best to your children because your children are our children.
Mrs Bharathi Ponnappa- HOD Pre Primary Dept.

COVID-19 Vaccination Drive at Bethany

COVID-19 Vaccination Drive at Bethany

Do all the good you can,

By all the means you can,

In all the ways you can,

In all the places you can

At all the times you can,

To all the people you can.

The Bethany Founder Mrs. Mignon David certainly believed in this dictum, and the Bethany family undoubtedly believes in this too.

When the vaccination drive at Bethany was proposed for the teachers and support staff, generosity poured in from every quarter. Funds for the drive which may have otherwise been a paid one (albeit discounted) came from the Bethany Management who have always been so immensely supportive through these terrible times, a few teachers who gave copiously and one immensely generous parent who wishes to remain anonymous.

June 11th saw 190 members of our Bethany family receive the Covishield vaccination.

The vaccination drive at Bethany garnered high praise for the way it was conducted; super organized and efficient. As a result, everything went smoothly.

The Director and Principal were present through and through as we constantly do our best to uphold our Bethany Social Responsibility.

Read about more regarding our BSR here!: https://old.bethanyinstitutions.edu.in/bsr/

May God bless and keep all of us safe.

Where Have They Gone? A Poem by Mrs. Kathleen Noronha

Where Have They Gone? A Poem by Mrs. Kathleen Noronha

WHERE HAVE THEY GONE?
Mrs. Kathleen Noronha
Special Educator

The stone walls are silent
From the classrooms, not a sound
The chalkboard, duster abandoned
Not a single student to be found.

The corridors are empty
No movement in the hall
The quiet is deafening
Once bustling, loud silence, that’s all.

No child on the basketball court
The busy playground is bare;
An eerie silence in the canteen
The children have gone, but where?

I searched high and low,
To hear their chattering voice,
Teachers guiding students,
The typical school noise.

Each child in an institution
Brings along life and cheer,
Oh! Where have they gone?
Their sweet sounds I want to hear.

I want to see them huddled together
I long to hear the school bell;
All their cute little faces
With myriad stories to tell.

I am left with my thoughts and wishes
There is nothing I can hear or see
A tiny little virus unleashed,
And turned our world around completely.

Children locked in their houses
With gadgets as their friends,
Alone, isolated, but with a hope
That this pandemic will end.

As we pray to our Lord and Master
Jesus will make a way.
Our children will be back in school
Someday, soon… someday…

P.A.T.H Session 1 – Tia Obed

P.A.T.H Session 1 – Tia Obed

At Bethany, P.A.T.H stands for PURSUING, with ALUMNI – TARGETS, with HOPE! A pioneering initiative from Bethany High, Bangalore that features panel discussions with illustrious Bethany High Alumni to inspire and encourage the students from X & XII on the world of careers out there!

This program has been curated to have them share their journey and experiences, more so to open our student’s eyes to the myriad opportunities that are available to them. Our hope is that these interactions will kindle within our students, the courage and inspiration to pursue their dreams.

For the first session of P.A.T.H we had Ms. Tia Obed from the batch of 2009 who moved to Australia with her family and started pursuing a Bachelor of Human Services at University of Queensland, Brisbane and recently completed a Masters in Counselling/Mental Health Therapy. Ms. Tia has also worked and volunteered in the homelessness and housing sector at Brisbane Relief Hub.

Letters of Appreciation – Bethany Professional Childcare

Letters of Appreciation – Bethany Professional Childcare

Dear Teachers at BPC,

We would like to take this opportunity to appreciate the efforts taken by you. 😊

As you would have noticed, Neil is a very active and exploring boy, full of energy. It used to be very difficult to get his energy expended or get him distracted. Since the time he joined pre-nursery, we have observed a marked improvement in Neil’s development. Over the past 4 months, Neil has become accustomed to the concept of school, and it is gradually becoming an integral part of his routine. The videos and the activities have enriched his learning experience and also helps us to keep him occupied. Initiatives like “Show and Tell” has improved Neil’s ability to articulate things. Moreover, he has become more curious and assertive, and he makes it a point to ask questions whenever he doesn’t understand something.

There used to be a time Neil liked music classes over PT classes. Now, he has learnt to appreciate PT classes as well. We also join him in singing and for some PT. 😃

Though this year of online learning has been challenging for the parents, we really appreciate the way BPC has helped us adapt to the virtual way of learning. On a lighter note, we really hope schools will reopen soon and kids will have the opportunity to meet their friends and teachers in person and learn.

Thank you, Anita Ma’am, Maha ma’am, Sumi Ma’am, Shuba Ma’am and Rimple Ma’am. Neil will always be grateful to you all 😊

Regards,

Ansa & Chris.

Dear Teachers,

Can’t believe that half the school year is over already and we’re into the second half! Just wanted to let you know that you’re all doing a great job and we appreciate everything that is being done for the kids despite the constraints with online learning.

We can see how far Ethan has come! I remember voicing my concerns that he just wouldn’t sit for class in the first week 🙂 .
Well, I still have that concern on and off but I see how much he’s improved from then to now! And he does sit longer than before. I had this thought in the beginning whether we should have held off on school this year but looking at the structured learning and the wide range of things you’ve been covering, I know we made the right decision starting him off with school although its just online.

The patience the teachers have is immense to manage these kids!!

I must say that Ethan loves all the activities that you have designed for them (all the more when it involves water).

Thank you.
Looking forward to more learning with Bethany

Regards,
Catherine, Paul & Ethan

Bethany Professional Childcare is in a quiet neighborhood in Koramangala First Block. It is one of the many feeder schools, which form an integral part of the Bethany Institutions. The school has three Pre-Nursery classrooms and can accommodate fifteen children per class. The children who come here spend a year here before graduating to the “Big School” which is the Pre-Primary Department opposite the Koramangala police station.

The curriculum followed by Pre-Nursery is identical across the Bethany Institutions though the smaller classroom numbers allows the teachers to be a little more ambitious when it comes to the variety and complexity in activities. The little ones learn Literacy, Numeracy and Our World (EVS). Apart from these core subjects the children enjoy music and PE twice a week. Activities are a blend of the traditional play way and Montessori method. At the end of the year the child’s confidence levels are certainly a sight to behold.

The registration for admissions is open for the academic year 2022-23! Click here for more details: https://app.edumerge.com/V2/onlineadmissionform/bhspreenqform.html
