Bethany Institutions

Bethany High School, Sarjapur, buzzed with excitement on October 26th, 2024, as it hosted an electrifying inter-studio and inter-school dance competition, Step- Up. The event showcased a variety of dance talent with categories fashioned to engage participants from different age groups and institutions, making it an unforgettable display of creativity, skill, and passion. The competition welcomed schools to compete in three categories based on the grades, all featuring freestyle, Indian classical Solo and Duo, and crew performances.

Group 1 (Grades 3-5),
Group 2 (Grades 6-8), and
Group 3 (Grades 9-12).

For the first time ever, professional dance studios from Hosur and Bangalore added their flair to the day and competed in two age categories, with ages 8-14 doing solo performances while the crew performances were divided by age below or above 18. They showcased polished routines that heightened the event’s competitive edge. Participating schools included Baldwin Girls, Greenwood High, Vibgyor High Marathahalli, St. Charles, and NPS Whitefield, with Greenwood High securing the prestigious overall trophy. All participants followed a structured set of rules, ensuring smooth performances. Wristbands
provided at the venue became an essential accessory of admittance for contestants. Participants adhered to times that were allotted for each dance category: Solo Freestyle, Solo Classical, Duo, and Crew, with crew teams having to consist of 6-12 dancers. Each act embraced inclusivity, allowing songs in any language and style, provided lyrics and costumes remained appropriate. Competitors were responsible for their own costumes, props, and submitting their music pieces in advance. The newly introduced “Super Moms” category stole the spotlight for its enthusiastic participation
from mothers from various schools, making it an overwhelming success and adding an enthusiastic and heartfelt and dimension to the competition.
Performances throughout the day captivated both audience and judges, with results announced for all categories at the end of the event, and the judges’ decisions respected as final. Bethany High’s 2024 dance competition celebrated unity in diversity, as it invited dancers of all ages to shine. The event left a lasting impression on everyone, blending passion with professionalism and laying the foundation for future joyous gatherings of dance virtuosity and
friendly competition.

We would like to extend our appreciation to all participants for their incredible performances and congratulate the winners on their well-deserved achievements.
