Looking back, one of the best decisions I’ve made is joining Bethany Junior College. Since joining Bethany in seventh grade I have learnt to be more disciplined, respectful and have a positive outlook .
As 11th and 12th are considered the most crucial years I was apprehensive to get into a good college especially during the pandemic. spending four years in Bethany, made me feel like I was a part of a family that I want to be a part of for two more years. The pandemic has been a challenge for the management as well as the students, despite that I felt that the management handled the situation of online classes very well making sure that all the students were taken care of in such a way that no student was left behind regarding academics as well as anything else concerning them.
Inspite of having classes online for two years, the curriculum and teaching methodology has enabled me to be more focused and has instilled seriousness in me regarding my 12th board exams. The teachers not only provided us with adequate notes but also made sure the required amount of attention was given to each and every student such that all the projects and school work were completed and submitted on time. Now looking back I feel I’ve made a very good decision by continuing in Bethany as the principles and values imparted by Bethany can mould every student to bring out the best in them which they will continue to hold for the rest of their lives.
This is a long overdue email from my side and I apologise for not getting to this earlier.
Wanted to send this shout out to all the teachers of BPC and the staff and management of Bethany for making our journey so smooth this year.
Online classes for kids at such a tender age are very challenging, however, the slow, steady and patient approach followed by the teachers to integrate the students is highly commendable. I can see the massive change in Yashvi, from the time when she started last year, with initial days beginning with words “No class” to shushing us these days, at signs of slight interruption during her class!
We understand the effort and thoughtfulness with which each lesson is planned. We also appreciate the empathetic outlook of the teachers who understand the difficulties faced by parents (esp. when both are working) and making sure that the activities are planned using widely available materials at home with ample notice period to gather them. Thank you so much for planning fun filled activities throughout the year!
In the race of social media, where many educational institutions are heavily bent upon showcasing their competitive edge, I feel Bethany stands tall with its values and legacy. We are proud to be a part of the Bethany family.
It is a joy to see Yashvi grow and learn so much this year! We look forward to another year of collaboration with Bethany!

BALA NIKIT is from the class of 2005. He did his B.A., LLB to pursue the law stream and is a member of he Advocates Association, High Court Unit, Bengaluru. Bala is enrolled with the Bar Council of India and received his certificate of practise from the Bar Council. Currently Bala Nikit is associated with ALMT legal, Bangalore and working along with senior advocate Arvind Kamath. Bala has written several articles published in Law journals and websites and he has also appeared before several High courts and Supreme Court.
RASHMI SUBRMANYA, from the class of 2004, after completing her B.A. LLB, is working as a senior consultant with the firm M/s. King& Partridge, Advocates

Every teacher knows that the role of a parent is both unparalleled and irreplaceable in a child’s life. As a long-time educator, I’ve seen how the little moments shared between parents and children lay the foundation for their future. In the quiet corridors and bustling classrooms, I’ve witnessed firsthand the influence of the parent-child bond on a student’s journey. Here’s a compilation of insights on parenting tips from a teacher rooted deeply in these observations:
1. Unwavering Love: At the heart of every child’s security and confidence is the knowledge of being loved unconditionally. It’s not merely about the big deeds but the everyday moments. They need to feel this love, knowing that it serves as a cushion in their times of trials and triumphs.
2. Laughter, The Daily Dose: A day without laughter is truly a day wasted. It’s the medicine that eases stress and forges memories. But remember, while it’s essential to laugh with your child, it’s equally important never to laugh at them.
3. Active Empathetic Listening: Paying genuine attention to what your child says can pave the way for deeper bonds. Even amidst pressing tasks, pause and listen. It conveys to them that they are valued and important, laying the foundation for mutual respect.
4. Being Their Guiding Mirror: Children, with their keen observational skills, learn more from what they see than what they’re told. Your actions, words, and even silences become lessons. So, be a reflection of the values and virtues you wish them to inculcate.
5. Revel in Shared Learning: The joy of parenthood is also in the learning. Embrace your child’s perspectives, indulge in their joys, and even in shared responsibilities. It brings a unique dynamism to the relationship, making both the parent and child grow.
6. Constructive Discipline: This doesn’t equate to punishment. It’s the art of guiding your child towards responsible behavior, ensuring they understand why certain behaviors are encouraged, and others are not. Including them in decision-making further reinforces this understanding.
7. Cherishing Family Time: The gift of time is invaluable. Shared meals, walks, or simple household chores done together not only strengthen bonds but also become cherished memories. In giving time, messages of love, value, and importance are inherently conveyed.
8. Journey of Parenthood: Every phase comes with its challenges. Yet, amidst these, lie the joys, learnings, and moments worth cherishing. The belief you instill in your child today will shape their belief in themselves tomorrow.
As we journey through parenthood, it’s essential to recognise and cherish the subtleties. Every giggle shared, every tear wiped away, every word of encouragement, and every moment of patience contribute to the tapestry of your child’s life. As a teacher, I’ve had the privilege of seeing how these bonds, nurtured at home, reflect in the classroom and beyond. It’s the everyday moments, the simple acts of love, and the unwavering belief in your child that leave an indelible mark. Embracing these moments not only strengthens the bond with your child but also shapes their worldview, self-esteem, and resilience. Remember, in the ever-evolving journey of parenting, it’s not about achieving perfection, but about being present, understanding, and loving. Because at the end of the day, through the eyes of your child, nobody does it better than you.

My daughter Nakshatra is studying in Junior 1 B. I am writing to you to let you know how happy and content we are with the online classes that was held this year. We were so worried about how our children would learn to write since they had not started even their alphabets. But now from alphabets our kids have leveled up to making sentences on their own. I would like to appreciate the efforts taken by Josephine ma’am, she has been extremely kind and patient with the kids. Her interaction in each and every class is so good. She is well organised and prepared. Her pronunciation, the way the activities are held, individual attention to every child in fact the entire session is fun filled and also very interactive. She goes beyond her way takes her time to explain even the smallest doubts that are raised in class.
My daughter absolutely loves the online classes. Thanks to Josephine ma’am for being such a wonderful patient and such a warm teacher to our junior 1B kids. I would also like to thank Maya and Madhavi ma’am for being so patient with children during language classes and Deepu sir (for music). Hoping school will start soon for our children to experience the real essence of Bethany school life.
