Bethany High is proud to announce that our Principal, Mr. Robert Khin, has been recognised as one of the first 50 Impactful School Leaders – 2024 by the Indian Principals Network Forum (IPN). This award highlights the dedication and influence of school leaders who have made a significant difference in education.
Mr. Robert Khin earned this honour after a rigorous interview process with two distinguished experts—Dr. AK Sharma and Dr. A.P. Jayaraman. Their expertise in education and science helped assess leadership skills, innovation in school management, and contributions to student development.
The award ceremony took place on 1st February 2025 at Le Meridien, Hyderabad, bringing together some of the most influential school leaders and educationists from across the country. This award reflects Mr. Khin’s commitment to academic excellence and his dedication to shaping the future of students.
The International Principals’ Network (IPN Global) is a leading knowledge network that connects school leaders worldwide, helping them share best practices and drive positive change in education. Bethany High celebrates this achievement and congratulates Mr. Robert Khin on this well-deserved recognition.
As is the tradition, the Kannada Rajyotsava programme was celebrated by the High School department of Bethany High on 6th November, 2024 with a lot of fervour. Through this programme, the students showcased respect for our country and the Kannada language in particular.
The programme started with a prayer. They showed the efforts of Aluru Venkatarayar in the unification of Karnataka .
The students spoke about how the ‘Mysore State’ came into being with the contribution of gentlemen like Deshpande, Rodda Srinivasa Rao, Chenna Basappa. Later, during the rule of Devaraja Arasu, as per the wishes of the people, ‘Mysore State’ was renamed as ‘Karnataka State’.
Through the skit, the story of ‘Onake Obavva’, who was the wife of the court guard of Madakari Nayak of Chitradurga Sansadhana and her brave act of facing HyderAli’s army, was enacted. It illustrated her self-confidence, courage, bravery and devotion to the king. Though she was an ordinary housewife, she sacrificed her life safeguarding the state from the intruders.
The Kannada Rajyotsava programme was well appreciated and enkindled pride and honour among the students and staff for our state, “Karnataka” helping them to understand the rich history and culture in which we live in.
ಪ್ರತಿ ವರ್ಷದಂತೆ ಈ ವರ್ಷವು ಸಹ ನಮ್ಮ ಬೆಥನಿ ಪ್ರೌಢ ಶಾಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ೬-೧೧-೨೦೨೪ ರಂದು ಕನ್ನಡ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಮೂಲಕ ಮಕ್ಕಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮ ನಾಡು, ನುಡಿಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಗೌರವಾಭಿಮಾನವನ್ನು ಮೂಡಿಸಿದೆವು.
ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ಆರಂಭಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ನಂತರ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಏಕೀಕರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋರಾಡಿದ. ಆಲೂರು ವೆಂಕಟರಾಯರು, ರಾ.ಹ. ದೇಶಪಾಂಡೆ, ರೊದ್ದ ಶ್ರೀನಿವಾಸ ರಾವ್, ಚೆನ್ನ ಬಸಪ್ಪ ರಂತಹ ಮಹನೀಯರ ಕೊಡುಗೆಯಿಂದ ‘ಮೈಸೂರು ರಾಜ್ಯವು’ ಉದಯವಾಯಿತು. ನಂತರ ದೇವರಾಜ ಅರಸು ಅವರ ಆಡಳಿತದ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಜನರ ಆಶಯದಂತೆ ’ಮೈಸೂರು ರಾಜ್ಯ’ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಬದಲಾಯಿಸಿ ’ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯ’ ಎಂದು ಪುನರ್ ನಾಮಕರಣವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಲಾದ ವಿಷಯದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿ ಕೊಡಲಾಯಿತು.
ಚಿತ್ರದುರ್ಗ ಸಂಸ್ಧಾನದ ಮದಕರಿ ನಾಯಕನ ಆಸ್ಥಾನದ ಕಾವಲುಗಾರನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದ ’ಒನಕೆ ಓಬವ್ವಳು’ ಹೈದರಾಲಿಯ ಸೈನ್ಯವನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸಿದ ಕಥೆಯನ್ನು ನಾಟಕದ ಮೂಲಕ ಪರಿಚಯಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಗೃಹಿಣಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದ ‘ ಓಬವ್ವಳ ‘ ಧೈರ್ಯ , ಸಾಹಸ, ರಾಜಭಕ್ತಿ, ರಾಜ್ಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ತನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನೇ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದ ಸಂಘತಿಯನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸುವ ಮೂಲಕ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಆತ್ಮ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸವನ್ನು ಮೂಡಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
The Bethany High Sarjapur campus also marked Kannada Rajyotsava with great enthusiasm. The school came together to hoist the Kannada flag, celebrating the rich culture and heritage of Karnataka. The occasion reflected the spirit of unity and pride among all the students and staff members.
Bethany High School, Koramangala, hosted its much-anticipated Annual Athletic Meet from 21st to 23rd August 2024. The event was a spectacular display of athleticism, teamwork, and sportsmanship, with the grand finale held on 23rd August featuring the best sporting talents from High School, NIOS, and Junior College students.
The finale kicked off with a vibrant March Past, setting the tone for an exciting day of events. The athletes participated in a variety of competitions, including the 100m sprints, relay races, an alumni race, a visitors’ race, and even a staff race, which brought great excitement to the spectators. It was truly a delight to see the young athletes in action, giving their best amidst loud cheers from their peers and teachers.
The highlight of the event was the presence of Mr Gul Mohammed Akbar, a renowned Marathon Race Director, who graced the occasion as the chief guest. In his inspiring address to the students, he emphasised the importance of maintaining physical fitness, avoiding the pitfalls of social media and addictions, and staying away from negative influences. He also encouraged the students to follow rules and regulations and respect their parents and teachers, reminding them that each person is unique and a masterpiece in their own way.
After a thrilling series of events and intense competition among the four houses, Mignon House emerged as the overall winner with an impressive 352 points. Leonard House closely followed with 344 points, while Darrel House and Satur House secured 246 and 241 points, respectively.
The Annual Athletic Meet 2024 at Bethany High School was a celebration of athletic talent and a testament to the school’s commitment to holistic development, promoting both physical and moral growth in its students. Congratulations to all participants, and especially to Mignon House for their outstanding victory!
Bethany High School, Sarjapur, hosted the 2024 CISCE Regional Table Tennis Tournament. The competition brought together 55 schools affiliated with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations.
The tournament was conducted at Bethany High, Sarjapur campus, on July 10 and 11, 2024. Dr. Akash Ryall, Director of Bethany Institutions, unfurled the CISCE flag, declaring the tournament open. The two-day event saw the players showcase their Table Tennis skills in the Under 14, Under 17, and Under 19 categories for both boys and girls.
The tournament witnessed a number of nerve-wracking matches.
Tamoghna from Little Flower Public School won the Under 14 Boys Singles Gold medal, whereas Irene Anna Subash from Christ Academy was crowned the champion of the Under 14 Girls Singles
Athrava Nawalauge, a student of Vidya Niketan School,won the Gold medal in the Under 17Boys Singles.Preksha Tilwat, from Bishop Cotton Girls’ School, placed first in the Under 17 Girls Singles.
Sameer C of St. Joseph’s BoysHigh School won the gold medal in the Under 19 Boys Singles.Hamsinee Arun of Baldwin Co-educational Extension High School was the first prize winner in the Under 19 Girls Single category.
Vidyashilp Academy won the first Prize in the Under 14 Boys Team Event, andCarmel School was the champion in the Under 14 Girls Team Event.
St. Joseph’s Boys High School was declared the winner of the Under 17 Boys Team Event, and Carmel School won first place in the Under 17 Girls Team Event.
St. Josephs’ Boys High School continued its winning streak in the Under 19 Boys Team Event by winning the first prize. The girls from Little Flower Public School made their school proud by securing Gold in the Under 19 Girls Team Event.
The winners of each category received merit certificates and medals for their exceptional performance. Individual winners from each category were also selected to represent Karnataka in the Nationals. All the participants received participation certificates recognizing their efforts.
The player’s remarkable spirit of participation and sportsmanship made the event a resounding success.
