Bethany’s Multitalented Stars
Howard Gardner, an American Developmental Psychologist developed the theory of multiple intelligence. He claims that all individuals have 9 intelligences in various amounts. When understood in the school set up it helps us to identify, encourage and support students who display these set of skills. We are so different because we have a different combination of intelligences.
We at Bethany believe in strengthening and nurturing these intelligences in our students. We celebrate their individuality and support them on their journeys of becoming well rounded and balanced individuals.
The 9 types of intelligences are-

Bodily/Kinesthetic,
Logical,
Visual/ Spatial,
Musical.

This academic year we have seen our Bethany students shine in various competitions.
Musical
1. Cadence-
The Inter-School National Level Music Competition was hosted by St. Joseph’s Boys High School, Bangalore. 45 schools participated and there were over 1500 participants.
The Over All Winners trophy was won by Bethany High, Sarjapur
Bodily/ Kinesthetic
1. Cricket Tournament-
The University of Canberra organized UCT-10 Cricket Challenge Cup at the Dravid Padukone Cricket ground, Yelahanka on August 29th. 6 schools participated in this challenge.
The Bethany High School Koramangala Girl’s cricket team (U-16) won all the 3 matches
The player of the series and the best batsman award went to Clarissa Grace Herald who scored 55, 59 and 63 runs in the 3 matches and remained not out.
2. Aikyam–
A dance competition conducted by Neev Academy, Bangalore was held earlier this year. Out of 10 school, Bethany High Koramangala- Middle school dancers bagged the First place.
3. Tarang Fest 2024-
Vydehi School of Excellence organised a Dance competition.
The Seniors participated in the Dance Revolution- Freestyle event. Out of 8 teams, Bethany High secured the 1st position.
The Juniors participated in the Beatbattle Category- Folklore. Out of 12 teams, Bethany High secured the 1st place.
4. Skating Competition-
The CISCE Regional Level Skating Competition was organised recently. Tanvi Dijith of Std 8 won gold at the event.
She also took part in the CISCE National Level Skating Competition and won the gold medal in both the events she participated in.
Tanvi has qualified for the SGFI level.
5. 27th Shitoryu Karate DO National Championship-2024 –
This event was organised by the ALL INDIA SHITORYU DO UNION from 23rd -25th August in Mysore.
Many of our Bethany students bagged medals and certificates at the tournament. Our Sensei Jagadish secured the first place in the vertebral category event.
6. Karate Competition– The National CISCE organised a competition. Tejas won a gold medal in the event.
7. Badminton Tournament–
The CISCE Regional Badminton tournament (U 17 category) was held at Greenwood High, Bangalore. Disha Bhat won the runners up position in the U-17 category while Arjun Agarwal won the Gold medal for the U 14 category.
8. State Ranking Badminton Tournament –
Disha Bhat won 5 Gold and 2 Silver medals at this Tournament.
She was declared the State Number 1 in both the Girls Doubles and Mixed Doubles – U 15 Category.
She is also the State Champion in the Mixed Doubles for the year 2024.
Disha has represented Karnataka in both the GD and XD categories in the National Championship held at Chennai from October 20th to 25th, 2024. She secured the Second Runner Up position in the Mixed Doubles category
9. GWR, Global World Record-
Punya Aiyappa, 8 years old has set a record for the Freestyle of 1 lakh metres swimming in a group on 12th June, 2024. It has been registered as a new World Record. Punya is a student of our Primary department.
10. Karnataka State Fencing Championship 2024–
It was held in the Shree Kanteerva Stadium, Bangalore from 24th to the 26th of October.Leanna Gilbert from Class 10, took part in the Under-17 and Under-20 categories in the Sabre Girls winning Bronze medals in both categories. She lost in the semi-finals with a close score of 13-15. 5 participants from each district in Karnataka participated in each category. It was a tough competition, demanding a show of skill, speed and stamina. She returned from the competition with valuable insights, two hard-earned medals and a heart full of newfound confidence. Due to her exceptional performance in this State Championship and two previous State Ranking Competitions, she has been selected in the state team to represent Karnataka in the Junior (Under-20) National Fencing Championship to be held in Bihar from 2 nd to 5 th December.
Interpersonal
1. Teens International World 2024-
Shuddhi Mahesh, represented India at Miss Teen International World and won the Teen International World 2024 title!
She won the prestigious People’s Choice Award (the Voting Round). Her picture will be displayed on the Times Square Billboard, New York this New Year’s Eve.
Linguistic
1. Debate Competition–
The Clarence High School, Bangalore organised the Platinum Jubilee Inter-school Debate competition. Aarefa Nakoda and Mekahla Kamath of Standard 10 secured the first place.
2. Clifford Hicks International Debate Competition-
This event was conducted by the Literary Society of the Calcutta Boys High School, Kolkata. The debate showcased students from 7 schools who were selected from the 80 participating schools. The topic of the Debate was, “Democracy has not failed India” Bethany High School was represented by Aarefa Nakoda and Mekhala Kamath. Aarefa from Class 10 received the Best Speaker Award in the Category II and both of them took the Winner’s Trophy in the category as well.
Naturalistic
1. Youngest Female Master Scuba Diver-
A 12 year old student, Kyna Khare has achieved this feat. She has been featured in both national and international media. Her achievements include Advanced Open Water Certification, Underwater photography, Specialised Nitrox diving, Perfect Buoyancy control and Diver training. She has completed advanced courses in both Bali and Thailand
Kyna has a great love for the ocean and its protection and desires to pursue marine science.
